Objectives of SwissATCA

  • ensure safe and efficient air traffic management in all airspace as well as on aerodromes controlled by skyguide
  • promote a positive image of air traffic control in general as well as of the air traffic controller (ATCO) profession in particular
  • safeguard the professional and social interests of the ATCO’s represented by SwissATCA
  • ensure long-term job security
  • regulate employment with skyguide through collective working agreements
  • promote working conditions that accomodate for the high psychological stress of ATCO’s and provide for adequate rest and regeneration in order to ensure the safety and high quality of air traffic services and to preserve the workforce by preventing stress-related losses
  • ensure remuneration pertinent to the high responsibility of the ATCO profession
  • ensure solid and adequate retirement provisions
  • assist individual members in distress through legal, financial and comradely support
  • promote and maintain influence capability of the associations with skyguide and the relevant national and international institutions and organizations (ICAO, EU, Eurocontrol, FOCA, CANSO etc.)
  • actively co-operate in the development of operational procedures and technical systems; propose improvements of procedures, infrastructure and equipment
  • closely co-operate with other national and international associations (IFATCA, ATCEUC, neighbouring associations, SwissALPA etc.)
  • cultivate openness within the associations and promote active participation of their members
